Voted one of the top 10 places to live for the outdoorsman, the Lewis-Clark Valley boasts some of the nation's finest hunting and fishing. Known as the Gateway to Hells Canyon, outdoor recreational opportunities are, literally, around every bend. The Lewis Clark Valley is Washington and Idaho's newest American Viticultural Area, producing award-winning, nationally recognized, premium wines.

One of Lewiston's major attractions is the opportunity to learn about Lewis and Clark's historic visit to the valley via the trails, parks and interpretive markers winding throughout the city. The Nez Perce National Historical Park Visitor Center offers another view of the Lewis Clark Valley's unusual history. Another major attraction is the raw beauty of Hells Canyon, the deepest river chasm on the continent and three of North America's wild and scenic rivers.

Lewiston is an inland sea port. The Port of Lewiston is the most inland seaport on the West Coast, located 465 river miles from the ocean. It is strategically located to link the Inland Northwest to global trade markets by connecting to the Columbia Snake River System, part of American's Marine Highway Corridors.
